What is Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)?

NEMT provides safe, reliable transportation for individuals who need to get to and from medical appointments but do not require emergency services. This includes rides to primary care visits, dialysis, physical therapy, outpatient surgeries, and more.

Who can use National NEMT services?

Our services are available to anyone in need of non-emergency transportation for medical purposes. We serve seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, patients with chronic conditions, and anyone requiring transportation to healthcare appointments. We also provide discharge/admission and home evaluation services for all of our facility partners.

Do I need a doctor’s referral/prescription to schedule a ride?

No referral is needed. You or a caregiver can schedule transportation directly with us or request us by name with your case manager/social worker or through the facility you're currently in need of transportation from. We work with individuals, families, healthcare providers, rehabilitation hospitals, insurance, and assisted living facilities.

What areas do you serve?

While we can serve any patient needs throughout Florida, including out of state, ground transportation, we primarily operate in Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, and Manatee Counties. Contact us to check service availability in your area.

What types of vehicles do you use?

Our fleet includes wheelchair and stretcher accessible vans, all maintained to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. Each vehicle is equipped for comfort and reliability.

Are your drivers trained in medical or mobility assistance?

Yes. All of our drivers are professionally trained, background-checked, CPR-certified, and experienced in assisting passengers with care, empathy, and dignity.

How do I schedule a ride?

You can call us directly, (877) NAT-NEMT, or submit a request through our website, or coordinate through a healthcare provider. Advanced booking is recommended to ensure availability.

Can I schedule recurring rides for routine appointments?

Absolutely! We specialize in consistent, reliable transportation for recurring visits such as dialysis, physical therapy, or check-ups. Drop us an email or call (877) NAT-NEMT for additional information.

What does it cost to use your service?

Pricing varies based on service type; wheelchair or stretcher. In addition to, distance and number of additional passengers, if needed. We’ll provide a transparent quote before your ride is confirmed. We will offer Medicaid and insurance billing in the near future, for now, we are direct pay only. If you're visiting one of our preferred inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, it is possible we can still assist if you're going through insurance. Is National NEMT insured and licensed?

Yes. We are fully licensed, insured, and compliant with all state and federal regulations regarding non-emergency medical transportation.

Can a caregiver or family member ride along?

Yes. In most cases, we can accommodate two additional passengers. Please contact us for details.

What safety measures do you take?

We follow strict safety protocols, including regular vehicle sanitation, seatbelt use, wheelchair securement, and COVID-19 precautions to protect all passengers and drivers.

What if my appointment runs late?

No problem. We monitor appointment schedules and remain flexible. Communication is key—just let us know, and we’ll adjust your return time. We'll also remain in communication with your primary care provider and/or the facility you're staying with to ensure seamless communication across the board.

How far in advance should I schedule my ride?

We recommend scheduling at least 24–48 hours in advance. However, we will do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when possible. In many cases, we can accommodate your ride requests within several hours notice, depending on the days schedule and your pickup location. To schedule a ride call (877) NAT-NEMT or email us.
